You will need a website for your affiliate marketing. If you are doing article marketing your website will be included in your bio box. If you want to blog to drive traffic you’ll need a site to host the blog. And you should always be building your list, so you will need to have an opt-in form on your site so you are able to collect names and email addresses.

Now that you understand why you’ll need a site let’s talk about Hosting which is where your site and web pages live. It is the physical equivalent of a bookcase stocked with books. Your website and pages are filed on the server and are accessed by your visitors.

Many people make the mistake of using some type of free service to host their web pages in the beginning. This is a mistake as those free services will shut down your account if you use it for sales and marketing purposes. Free blog sites such as Blogger are intended for peer to peer recreational use, not businesses.

Never fear, you can go out and buy your own hosting for less than $10 a month. We strongly recommend Hostgator to new and established online marketers. They are rock solid, and very reliable. We here at Overcome Everything have had nothing but good experiences with them.

We have step by step video trainings inside the LBC that explain in detail how to buy your domain, setup hosting and get your site up and running. We’ll give you a quick rundown here though so you can get going if your not a member of the LBC. You can also access some FREE videos explaining these steps here.

Start by going to www.godaddy.com and buying your domain, since you are interested in promoting the Listbuilding Club get something that can be associated with the LBC, try to pick a domain name that has lbc or listbuildingclub in it. Get creative.

Next head on over to www.hostgator.com and get yourself some hosting. If you just have one domain then you can get going with the Hatchling Plan. It’s under $10 right now. If you use the promo code HOSTGATOR it will get you your first month free.

Now you are ready to rock! With your own domain and hosting you are free to sell and promote as much as you want. You can install a blog on your domain and post to it every day, driving customers to the Listbuilding Club through your affiliate link. You don’t have to worry about a shopping cart, sales pages, billing or anything like that. It’s the beauty of being an affiliate! You send the customers and get paid. Just like that.

Tellman Knudson got his start in Internet Marketing as an affiliate, and he pulled in over $800,000 his first year. Tellman strongly recommends new comers to the online world start as affiliate marketers. You can make great money doing it, and it also gives you the chance to see how others run their businesses. Becoming an affiliate is the quickest way to begin generating income.

What about more advanced hosting? Something that you could build a whole business around, and that can take a ton of traffic? You can use Hostgator for bigger sites, many people do.

Another option that is popular with larger sites is a company called Rackspace. We use them, and they are very robust and have excellent customer and tech support. Rackspace can be a good option if you are growing rapidly and need the capability to handle large amounts of traffic, such as a launch.

But if you are just starting out Hostgator will work perfectly.

Here at Overcome Everything we use redirects every day. From redirecting our affiliate links to affiliate pages, all the way to redirecting our own pages they are an important tool.

What I want to talk to you about is how you can use redirects in your affiliate marketing, specifically when you are promoting the Listbuilding Club. You see, a standard affiliate link is somewhat ugly, they often look like this: http://www.listbuilding.com?affID=youraffiliateID. If you are sending a broadcast to your list or including a link in the resource box of an article you DON”T want to use a link that looks like this.

Many people are hesitant to click on links that look like that, some know they are affiliate links and others don’t know what they are and it scares them. Still other people who are affiliate link savvy will sign up for the program you are promoting as an affiliate themself, then they will take your affiliate link and switch out the affiliate ID with theirs, and buy the program. It’s a devious way to get the commission for themselves on a product they purchased. This practice is commonly known as link theft.

There are two ways to use redirects to get around this. One way is to use a php redirect. For example you have a website, the address is www.yourdomain.com, and you want to promote the Listbuilding Club. All you need to do is create a directory on your site called /lbc (or something similar) the url will then look like this: www.yourdomain.com/lbc. With me so far?

Now all you need to do is put a redirect at www.yourdomain.com/lbc with your affiliate link as the redirect address. It’s much cleaner, and more people will click on that link. You can get the redirect code and instructions on how to use it here in the LBC affiliate center. Definitely check out all the resources in there. We put it together to help you get started making money promoting the LBC.

The second way to redirect your affiliate link is by buying a domain and forwarding that domain through your affiliate link. The process is simple, pick a domain that is relevant to what you are promoting. Buy that domain through a registrar, we use Godaddy. Then inside your account you will forward that domain to your affiliate link. It can take up to 24 hours to update across the web. Once you are able to type that domain you bought into your browser and end up on the page your affiliate link promotes you are all set. Just put that domain address in your emails, resources box or where ever you are promoting from and your all set!

Twitter is a very useful Internet Marketing research tool. You can use it to ask basic questions, or to tweet survey links. Doing so allows you to gather data about your market and more effectively provide desired content. While Twitter will allow you to communicate to all your followers in an instant, don’t make the mistake of trying to sell sell sell on Twitter. It’s not the right place for that, instead keep it informal. Give your followers tips and suggestions.

Now go give it a try! Once you get familiar with Twitter you’ll be out there Tweeting with the best of them!

So, what do you need?

• You have to set up a squeeze page to build your list that leads to your affiliate page, after people opt in.
• You need a bridge line. You can get a free one at http://FreeConferencingCalling.com or if you want more bells and whistles, Instant Teleseminar
• You need a guest, who will generally be the owner of the product or someone closely associated with it.
• You need a script of what you want to say or a list of questions to ask.

And then, all you need to do is show up for the call and start talking.

Of course, you’ll need an audience. So, having one teleseminar isn’t really the way to go in the beginning because if you don’t have your own list, who will you invite to listen?

You need to do a teleseminar series. By leveraging the power of the group, you can build your list at lightning speed and make a whole ton of money in the bargain.

Your long term success as an affiliate marketer is directly connected to the size of your list.  If you are already  a member of  the List Building Club then you most likely understand this.  However, it is easy it is to get pulled in a thousand different directions as you go deeper into the internet marketing rabbit hole and it is crucial that you stay focused on building your list.  So here are a few quick suggestions to get the list juice flowing.

1. If you don’t have a squeeze page or an opt in box on your website with a high value offer consider putting one on there now.  Be sure to create a compelling offer and deliver a lot of value in exhchange for an opt-in. Your goal is to make people want to sign up and to feel like they got something useful in exchange.  Lessons 8 and 9 in the Listbuilding club will teach you everything you know to get your squeeze page up and pulling in subscribers.

2. Visit blogs and social media sites that are related to your niche  and your squeeze page offer and comment on posts.  Establish yourself as an authority and people will be inclined to go to your site and opt in to see what other value you have to share.  A great way to find blogs in your niche is to do a blog search  on google.

3. Write some articles related to the topic of your squeeze page offer, post them on Ezine articles and Go Articles and  have them distributed through Isnare.  You will want to submit unique content to each article site.  Duplicate content will likely be blocked.  Be sure to share useful information and always remember to include a call to action at the end of your article include a call to action at the end of the article that will drive people to your squeeze page.  To listen to our recent teleseminar on article marketing click here and scroll down to 7/3/09.

Your long term success as an affiliate marketer depends on your list.  Your list will be your greatest asset and no matter what else you do, continue to build a strong relationship with your existing list and spend some time every day working to make it grow larger.

That is the  simple formula for affiliate marketing success.

Hello! I read that my affiliate cookies last for life until the recipient clears their cookies. What happens in a circumstance in which, say I send an email to my friend and they click on my affiliate link. Then some time later somebody else sends them an email and they click on that persons LBC affiliate link. At this point, they have not cleared their cookies. Who gets the sale? Answer:

Your affiliate link cookies are what is called “last cookie”. This means that a customer’s current cookie is determined by the last affiliate link they went through. Every time a customer goes through a new affiliate link their past cookie is overwritten.

This approach puts all affiliates on equal footing. If a potential customer goes through your affiliate link and buys, you are credited for the sale. But if they went through your affiliate link and decided not to buy, and then a few months later went through a different affiliate link and DID buy it wouldn’t be fair to the other affiliate if your cookie remained intact.

If you are wondering what happens if you are credited for a sale of the Listbuilding Club, and then later on your customer goes through another affiliate’s link in doing so overwriting your original cookie.
Nothing to worry about here, you are still credited for the initial sale of the LBC and for every recurring billing thereafter!

The good news is most people don’t clear their cookies, so if you can make the sale on the first email through your affiliate link you get the credit!

Think about Joint Ventures in a different way.

If you’re just starting out, have no list, and aren’t really sure how to promote the ListBuilding Club, a joint venture with someone who has the skills you don’t could be just the ticket.

If you aren’t technically inclined… find a person who is and knows computers and the Internet. Get to know them, and then, create a partnership based on what each of you is good at.

• Your team should have someone with strategy skills, someone who can plan your marketing agenda.

• Your team should have a writer. Someone who can write or learn to write good copy.

• And as above, you’ll need a technician, someone who can get your pages up and your links placed so that you can move your projects forward.

Joint venturing doesn’t just have to be about you mail for me and I’ll mail for you. I can be about helping one another to reach a goal, based on skill sets.

If you are going to use Youtube’s auto share feature be sure that the videos you are sharing on Facebook Twitter or Google Reader are relevant to your niche or be sure that at the very least they reflect the positive aspects of your personality.

There are lots of services you can use to get your Youtube videos out there, but the nicest thing about Youtube’s Auto Share option is that it only takes a few seconds to activate.

It is easy and instant. It doesn’t get much better than that.
